Event Information

Grand Masters Throwdown is an all inclusive functional fitness competition hosted by Ore CrossFit for athletes aged 40 years and over. The Throwdown offers male and female athletes the opportunity to compete against their peers, with each gender being split in to the following age categories: 40-44 45-49 50-54 55-59 60+ Whether you are an athlete of an elite or intermediate level, you will find this a challenging and rewarding two day competition. Movement standards will be similar to the CrossFit Open for your age group, and will carry on in the ilk of Raising the Bar, meaning that there will be opportunities to scale workouts on a workout by workout basis, with your ranking for that workout being placed in the same way as in the CrossFit Open. Scaling will also be similar to the CrossFit Open for your age group. Workouts will be released a day or two before the Throwdown. All athletes will have the opportunity to take part in 5 workouts- 3 on the Saturday and 2 on the Sunday- with the top placed athletes then proceeding to a final event. There will be cash prizes as follows in each division, paid following the event: 1st place - £50 2nd place - £25 3rd place - £10 Entries are on a 'first come, first served' basis. There are no qualifiers. Please enter in to the correct age category. Your age as at 6 June 2020 will determine your age category. Please bring photographic ID showing your date of birth to the event, you will need this for registration. You will receive an event T-shirt with your entry, please enter your T-shirt size where requested on the entry form. T-shirts for females will be a female specific cut. Until 31 March 2020 we will be accepting 13 athletes per category. On 31 March, we may reallocate unallocated spaces to other more popular categories, according to demand. If you wish to withdraw your entry, refunds will only be offered if a competitor can be found, either by you or us, to take your place in your category. In the event that the event is cancelled by us, you will receive a full refund. Any refund will only be of the event entry fee. Any processing fees incurred by you either through your bank or through entering on Competition Corner will not be refunded. We will send out logistical information in due course, including details of places to stay, what to expect at the event, when to show up and key things to bring with you.
